It’s no secret: I LOVE peep-toe shoes. I always find that no matter what the occasion, you simply can’t go wrong with these sexy and sassy little numbers. When sauntering about in the many forms that a peep-toe shoe can take, I always feel comfortable and in style.

Do you have an absolute favorite of something? Something you don’t really think about, you just know it’s always that “go-to” item? Except…ok well, I’ll be honest here. Why did I initially fall for them?

My toes. Ah yes. Let me bring you back to my childhood, where my brothers were not so subtle (ok they still aren’t) and of course found great fun making fun of anything they thought was a physical ‘defect’ on my part. So of course my feet came under scrutiny and they found it.

My long toe.

That’s right, not my big toe. My LONG toe. My second toe. It has considerable “height” over my supposedly “big” toe. Let me put it this way. If my big toe was a 12-inch ruler my long toe would be a yardstick. If my big toe was Danny DeVito my long toe would be Lebron James. That big of a difference. So instead of joyously running around in the sand in bare feet or padding around the house innocently in flip-flops; I found myself crying to my mother as my younger brother asked me if I could hang from a tree with my “long” toe like a monkey.

Now, as an adult I’ve realized a few things. 1-My brothers are actually funny and that monkey comment was pretty darn good. 2-I DO have a fabulous fashion alternative. Since all of my toes are not exposed while wearing peep-toe shoes, voila! I have success. My long toe has room and I can still wear cute shoes! 3. Peep-toes come in as many options as you can dream of and you don’t have to break the bank to wear them!

Today we have more options than ever.
